About Us
Barr Dermatopathology offers a great depth of resources to our clients, physicians, and patients. We are a division of the Newport Harbor Pathology Medical Group and serve California. Collectively, we have over 170 years of experience in the diagnosis and management of skin disorders.
Over the years, we have worked to create a dematopathology practice that is optimized to provide accurate and meaningful tissue analysis to both patients and physicians in a timely manner, taking pride in our attention to quality and patient safety. We work closely with physicians to ensure correlation with the patient’s condition and to provide an accurate and meaningful diagnosis.
We are proud to service many physician practices in Orange County, Los Angeles, and beyond. We have also maintained a long-standing partnership with Providence Health System, including Mission Hospital Mission Viejo and Mission Hospital Laguna Beach, to provide professional pathology service to outpaitents and hospital inpatients. Our courier network offers daily service within Southern California. We utilize express mail service (FedEx) for those outside the range of our couriers.
Our laboratory is licensed by the California Department of Public Health, Clinical Laboratory Improvement Ammendments (CLIA), and accredited by the Joint Commission Accreditation of Health Organizations (JCAHO).
Insurance and Billing
We accept all PPO insurance and are contracted with many of the most common HMO insurance carriers, including but not limited to: Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Sigma, Greater Newport Physicians, HealthNet, Monarch IPA, Scan, and many more.
