Ronald Barr, M.D.

Board Certified Dermatopathologist

Dr. Ronald Barr is the former head of dermatopathology at the University of California Irvine Medical Center. He is also a past president of the American Board of Dermatology and a past president of the American Society of Dermatopathology. Dr. Barr is board certified in anatomic pathology, dermatopathology, and dermatology.

Dr. Barr is an internationally recognized expert in dermatopathology. He is sought out by dermatologists as an expert in the interpretation of skin biopsies of pigmented skin lesions such as nevi (moles) and melanoma. Dr. Barr has authored numerous academic articles on a variety of skin diseases and has lectured extensively about the microscopic interpretation of skin tumors, atypical nevi, and melanomas. While at UCI, Dr. Barr trained a generation of dermatologists, many of whom practice in Southern California. For years Dr. Barr faithfully served dermatologists and patients in the communities of Orange County and neighboring counties as their academic expert in the microscopy interpretation of challenging skin biopsies. Dr. Barr and his associates have elevated the level of the practice of dermatopathology in the region and are committed to bringing the very best in cancer care to the communities that our practice serves.
